Pilates Enthusiasts and The Curious

The power of mat based Pilates to improve balance, strength and flexibility is well known - however, perhaps less commonly known is that Joseph Pilates invented many pieces of equipment to help people "Return to Life” and support their movement. Invest in your practice with whole-body and challenging exercises and improve Balance, Uniformity and Strength in a way that gym equipment just can’t.

Golf, Dance, Running and other Sports

Whole body and challenging exercises improve Balance, Uniformity and Strength in a way that gym equipment just can’t. With progressive and resistance based (and fun!) sequences, you can see where you can enhance your performance and ensure your whole body is participating.

Sore Bodies

Your Physiotherapist, Osteotherapist, or other Body Worker will be delighted that their work can be progressed by a range of supportive equipment - specifically designed to progress you from rehab to improved functional movement.

Those who prefer a Tailored Exercise Experience

Nervous about big gyms? Don’t know where to start? Sore or in Rehab? Our boutique Studio with expert teachers offers individualised attention and hands-on support; to ensure you meet your personal goals, at your own pace. Together with special Orientation sessions to make you feel comfortable.

Specialities

Some of our Teachers socialise in specific conditions or goals - including expert qualification in many areas of women's health including Bone Health, Pelvic and Breast Health; sports including rowing, skating and running - and mindful practices for those who prefer a calm environment.

KIRSTY

Kirsty has been teaching since 2009 and is the founder of The Pilates Studio. She brings her curiosity to building movement confidence, blending skills from several movement and exercise disciplines – and, in addition to being comprehensively qualified in both Classical and Contemporary Pilates, has developed specialisms in Breast Cancer Rehab, Pain Management and Dynamic Ageing.

Kirsty grew up in nearby Dollar; and now lives in Stirling with her family. After spending time in the computer industry, she swapped a suit for more comfortable clothing and loves helping people to Move Better.

An advocate for natural movement, you may find her hanging off the occasional tree or looking for minimal shoes.

SABRINA

Sabrina has been working in the Fitness industry since 1998. An outdoor enthusiast, she has a special interest in sports injuries and prevention and performance enhancement.

Sabrina grew up in Canada, involved in many sports from a very young age. If she is not in the Pilates Studio helping clients achieve their goals, you will find her on the hills: walking, running, mountain biking, or skiing.

She has completed a 3000mile Atlantic rowing adventure; a feat that speaks to her relentless pursuit of new challenges. Her outlook towards life is one of continual learning, overcoming fears and always seeking new experiences.

Sabrina is a 2nd Generation fully comprehensive Pilates teacher, carryon on a legacy of knowledge and dedication in the field.

STEPH

I am a trainee Pilates teacher currently completing my certification through the Lolita's Legacy programme, working toward becoming a Third Generation Teacher trained in the lineage of internationally acclaimed first generation teacher Lolita San Miguel.

My own Pilates journey began out of necessity. After suffering from hernias, I turned to Pilates as a way to manage pain and support my recovery — and it changed everything. Once I was on the other side, Pilates became the tool that helped me rebuild my strength, reconnect with my body and rediscover what it felt like to feel truly well.

After a successful career in asset management, I made the decision to follow my passion and retrain in the two disciplines I love most — Pilates and lymphatic health. I now bring that same drive and dedication to my clients, with a genuine understanding of what it means to use movement as medicine.

KATE

I first tried Pilates on holiday in Greece back in 2012 and fell in love with the restorative and energising aspects of the Pilates method. Since then, it has helped me recover and rehabilitate from an achilles injury as well as keeping me generally fit and flexible.

I am a keen tennis player and my husband, and I are regular hillwalkers, and the improved strength, body alignment and posture that I’ve achieved from my Pilates practise has been hugely beneficial to both these activities.

After many years working in the travel industry, which sounds glamorous but involves sitting at a desk for long hours, a few years ago I decided to turn my passion for Pilates into a career.

CLARE

Running was my route to Pilates. Pilates was cited as a great way to develop core strength to improve performance and to help stay injury free - I was curious to give it a try when a new class opened in my local church hall.

The Pilates method delivered what it promised, and helped to develop a balance and strength in my body that has allowed me to run and move well. Pilates became integral to my physical and mental well-being and wasn’t just for running, but for life.

I wanted to learn more about Pilates and trained to teach mat Pilates, and achieved the Level 3 Mat Pilates in 2018, and have been teaching a class since 2019.
