​Pilates Enthusiasts and The Curious

The power of mat based Pilates to improve balance strength and flexibility is well known - however, perhaps less commonly known is that Joseph Pilates invented many pieces of equipment to help people "Return to Life” and support their movement.

​Golf, Dance, Running and other Sports

Whole body and challenging exercises improve Balance, Uniformity and Strength in a way that gym equipment just can’t. With progressive and resistance based (and fun!) sequences, you can see where you can enhance your performance and ensure your whole body is participating.

​Sore Bodies

Your Physiotherapist, Osteotherapist, or other Body Worker will be delighted that their work can be progressed by a range of supportive equipment - specifically designed to progress you from rehab to improved functional movement.

​Breast Health Speciality

Kirsty has special interest in this area and is experienced in design of programmes for pre, during and post treatment. She is also qualified to work (with your permission) together your medical professionals on any special focus.


​Move Better and Age Well for Mid-life and later

Kirsty has expert qualification in many areas of women's health including Bone Health, Pelvic and Breast Health. By looking first at how you are loading your body, she can help you to uncover habits and barriers which may be "reprogrammed". 

The use of the equipment within The Pilates Studio means that this is accessible to many more people - and is particularly appealing to those who do not like the gym environment or large groups.

Meet Our Team

KIRSTY

Kirsty has been teaching since 2009 and is the founder of The Pilates Studio. She brings her curiosity to building movement confidence, blending skills from several movement and exercise disciplines – and, in addition to being qualified in both Classical and Contemporary Pilates, has developed specialisms in Breast Cancer Rehab, Pain Management and Dynamic Ageing. 

Kirsty grew up in nearby Dollar; and now lives in Stirling with her family. After spending time in the computer industry, she swapped a suit for more comfortable clothing and loves helping people to Move Better. 

​An advocate for natural movement, you may find her hanging off the occasional tree or looking for minimal shoes.

SABRINA

​Sabrina has been working in the Fitness industry since 1998. An outdoor enthusiast, she has a special interest in sports injuries and prevention and performance enhancement.

Sabrina grew up in Canada, involved in many sports from a very young age. If she is not in the Pilates Studio helping clients achieve their goals, you will find her on the hills: walking, running, mountain biking, or skiing. 

​She has completed a 3000mile Atlantic rowing adventure; a feat that speaks to her relentless pursuit of new challenges. Her outlook towards life is one of continual learning, overcoming fears and always seeking new experiences.

​Sabrina is a 2nd Generation fully comprehensive Pilates teacher, carryon on a legacy of knowledge and dedication in the field.

LAURA

​Laura is a fiercely passionate Scottish woman with a love of nature, all things movement & human connection. She holds a burning desire to help people feel happy with and in their bodies because that's my journey too.

A Pilates Teacher & Educator with over 16 years experience, she holds qualifications in Pilates, Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Meditation, personal & spiritual development. 

She has an 8 year old Toodle called Lola and you can most regularly find them either by the ocean, in the woods or snuggled up with a warm cup of cacao listening to a good audio book.

LEAH

Leah is a dedicated health and fitness enthusiast. Her journey with Pilates began several years ago as a means of recovery following injuries, and she quickly developed a deep appreciation for its positive impact on both her physical and mental well-being.

As a people-oriented individual, she was inspired by the opportunity to teach and connect with others; and since qualifying Classical Pilates this has become a true calling for her. She finds immense fulfilment in helping others achieve positive changes in their lives; and loves integrating her personal skills with her enthusiasm for Pilates, outside of her current career in IT.

​What to expect

Come and try a session either as a private One to One, or with a friend, in a Duet; or as part of a small group of up to 4 people.

In your first session you will be introduced to the equipment and to a range of introductory moves. From there you can become a regular visitor or drop in now and then, to support your other movement practices.
