What to expect from the Session

Picture
This Introductory session is aimed at all shapes and sizes, all fitness levels; and it is for anyone from 16 to 150 years.

We will be exploring movement within our bodies using the basic 5 Pilates principles; leaving you with an better understanding of the method and whether you feel it would suit you to join a regular class - either with me or with someone else.

Most of the work is done on the floor or seated; and there are chairs to sit on or help you get up and down, if you need them. If you feel you need any special requirements then please let me know.

How can Pilates help me?

Picture
Pilates is an advanced programme of exercises designed to improve Posture, Alignment, Flexibility, Strength, Balance and Endurance. By teaching you to move your body with control, it can help you eliminate chronic pain and improve body function; and it is applicable to both activity specific training and everyday life.

It is designed to restore the natural curves of the spine and rebalance the muscles around the joints. It involves placing emphasis on preparatory and mindful exercises; and offers a range of modifications to allow the technique to be appropriate for many different body types and abilities.

What are the Five Principles of Pilates?
