Do I need to book?
Yes please. This is an individual exercise and therefore Pilates class sizes should be limited to allow your instructor to supervise your movements; and make any individual adjustments.

What if I have an injury?
You will need to ask your medical adviser for advice if you have an injury and everyone must complete a health screening with the instructor. However, one of the benefits of Pilates is that most of the exercises can be tailored to accommodate limitations. If in doubt, just call and ask.

Am I too old/too unfit/too fat?
There is a range of ages (20-75years) and fitness levels in the class, and they all enjoy it. What other exercise can you do where you spend most of the time lying down! If you are unsure then call and ask when the next Introductory Session is - and try for yourself.

I am quite fit so will it challenge me enough?
Sometimes the fit people find Pilates the hardest, as they have trained their bodies into a compromised posture. Correct alignment and integrity of movement is key in Pilates, deepening your strength and reaching muscles which can be missed in other forms of exercise. It is therefore an essential for those who participating in other types of sports or fitness movement.

How often should I do Pilates?
Pilates is a skill that needs to be learned and so regular attendance is best. As a guide......most of the people attending classes come once a week and see the physical benefits after a few months. If you participate in Pilates 3 times per week you could see differences within weeks.

What do I wear?
Bare feet or socks are perfect and any clothes that allow for movements such as bending and stretching. Make sure you are comfortable; however please do not make them too loose as your instructor will need to see your body movements.

What do I need to bring with me?
To start with all you need is a Pilates mat, a towel and a stretchy band. You can get them from a range of suppliers online. For the group classes, we sometimes use small pieces of equipment like stretchy bands and balls - I will let you know what you need in advance. If you need some help finding one then please just get on touch.

What equipment is required
